Dental Crowns

Do you have teeth that are structurally damaged or in need of cosmetic enhancement? Dental crowns may be the treatment for you.

At Cosmetic and Implant Dentistry of Connecticut, we use the latest technology to create gorgeous same-day crowns in our own office.

Our dentists in Hamden, East Haven, and Branford, CT, can help you skip temporary dental crowns to restore your smile in just one visit.

Help Is At Hand

Instead of struggling through pain or damage, come see us and get the care you need. Whether you've lost a tooth, broken your enamel, or developed a root canal infection, we can help — all without the hassle of a temporary crown. Contact our Hamden-area team to explore your options, including same-day crowns and dental implant-supported crowns.

CEREC Makes Same-Day Treatment Possible

While other practices can take weeks to create a crown through a third-party dental lab, we use the CEREC® system to craft custom same-day crowns.

This modern dentistry technology allows us to effectively and quickly create your custom crown, so there's no need for a waiting period or temporary crown.

We can complete the entire process of designing, creating, and placing your permanent dental crown in a single appointment at our Hamden, CT, dental office.

The Benefits of Same-Day Crowns

Not all Hamden-area dentists invest in their patients with a CEREC milling system. Because our team proudly features this technology, you can reap the benefits, like:

Precision

With our CEREC machine, you'll never have to sacrifice accuracy in favor of results. A digital scan of your teeth will be used to create a blueprint for your restoration, which will then be uploaded to our milling system.

Appearance

Your crown will be crafted with the highest degree of accuracy, ensuring a seamless fit and excellent function. The material we use can be color-matched to the natural shade of your teeth, so your crown will be indistinguishable from the rest of your smile.

Timeliness

Instead of struggling with tooth pain or trouble chewing, you can find relief quickly with a CEREC crown. It can shave weeks off your treatment plan, so that your dental problems are resolved in one go — no temporary crown necessary.

Are Crowns Covered By Insurance?

/

Yes, when used to restore health and function, crowns are eligible for partial coverage through insurance. Dental implants and cosmetic crowns, however, will not be eligible for any assistance from insurance. Our practice accepts most types of dental insurance, and you're welcome to ask our friendly office staff if your provider is among them.

We Accept Flexible Financing

We want to make excellent dentistry available to all our patients regardless of their insurance status or the reason they are seeking treatment. If you are uninsured or paying for your dental crowns out-of-pocket, know that we accept financing through CareCredit® and our team is ready to work with you to make your treatment affordable.

Dental Crowns Create Incredible Transformations

Our real Connecticut patient was dealing with a combination of cosmetic and restorative concerns: dental crowding, staining, and worn, misshapen teeth.

Our dentists used crowns to correct all the patient's issues at once. We were able to give them a brighter, more uniform smile with a completely natural look.

The Dental Crown Timeline From Start to Finish

We treat patients as the individuals they are. As a result, each case is completely custom. Generally, though, you can expect your crown placement to go something like this:
It takes just a few hours to restore
your smile with dental crowns.

Initial Consultation

During your first visit to our Hamden, CT, office, our dentist will perform a thorough examination of your teeth and determine whether a dental crown is the right treatment for you.

Numbing Anesthetic

The dental crown process is not especially uncomfortable, and most patients feel virtually nothing with just local anesthetic in the gums and treatment area; however, if visiting the dentist makes you anxious, let us know if there is anything we can do to help you feel more relaxed.

Shaping the Tooth

Any decay or damage will be removed, and your tooth will be gently shaped to accommodate your dental crown.

Fabricating the Crown

Your dentist will take a digital scan of your teeth and gums. This scan will be used as a guide in the creation of your customized crown. Our CEREC machine will create a crown that looks natural and fits comfortably over your treated tooth.

Placing the Crown

Because CEREC can create restorations in a single office visit, you won't need to bother with temporary crowns or waiting periods that last for several weeks. Once your crown is complete, your dentist will secure it to the tooth and confirm that you're happy with the look and fit.

Custom, Effective, and Detail-Oriented The Crown Process, Visualized

Our Hamden-area dentist will prepare your tooth by reshaping your enamel. This allows us to create a seamless fit with your crown and natural tooth. After your crown has been made while you wait, we can place it over your tooth, cementing it in place. Once it has adhered, you can get back to chewing, smiling, and speaking with confidence.
